Relaxing couple of days (6/11-6/13)

6/11/09
Slow relaxing day today. Woke up and went to school by 7:30 and found out Matt wasn’t scheduled to teach till 1PM. So we just sat, talked, read, and marvelously killed time with no worries. Went for a walk and saw some local houses behind the school. Just ate some more Ampasi (Remember it’s boiled Yam and Cassava, used to scoop a sauce made from tomatoes, squash, onions, garlic, pepper etc..) Movie time, It’s nice to watch these DVDs at night. Reminds you of home.

Slow day at school today. After a Teachers vs Students volleyball game we left early and came to Cape Coast for the day. We met up with some PC Volunteers and Trainees. Had some drinks and hopped between bars. Well they had drinks, I drank Fanta Orange Soda. Very chill time, but tonight I will stop my course of TB medicine since we found documentation that I took it years ago. Thank god. Either way it was a very chill night.

Jordan dancing with local kids in Cape Coast
He reminds me a lot of little kyle... very quiet and mean looking sober, hilarious and smiley drunk.. I could def. see kyle doing this exact same thing once he drank himself into the right mindset

It’s funny how the night life has been. Bar hop and drunk by 9, home by 10. Up at 6. This morning we went to the beach and hung out there all day. So relaxing. What a great way to spend the day. It’s hard to explain, we have this in the states but I think it’s more relaxing here cuz I don’t have anything stressing to go back to. Pure chill with nothing nagging me to be done in the back of my mind.

Heading to our training site tomorrow in the Eastern Region of Ghana (keep in mind that here the states are called regions.. so the eastern region is not necessarily the farthest east, and the northern region is not the farthest north..FYI..) tomorrow to begin our training…
