Leave for Philly today. Staging is tomorrow. I get to meet the other 66 volunteers in my training class for June 2009 - Aug 2011. I cant believe today has finally arrived. I've said goodbye to everyone, and now it's finally starting. From here on out hopefully my posts will get much more exotic for all those expecting an African adventure akin to the ones you see in Busch Gardens.
I think I read somewhere that in Ghana everyone travels around in huge donut shaped rafts, and they just float from town to town, with their shoes and fanny packs in the middle under protective plastic wrap.
I just want to say thanks to everyone and all the support I've received so far. I have 14 of you following my blog, some conditionally dependent on a good quality of stories. I hope I don't disappoint.
Next time I post will either be from Philly just before I board, or from Ghana once I land. I hope to have something exciting to share, like how much fun it is to get 38 shots, or how great malaria pills taste.
I'll miss you all, come visit me soon!
Guillermo
