Aaaand cue the rooster---- Morning.
System check? Yes, all major appendages still attached. I can see by his shadow that mantis has made it to the other side of my shutters and spent all night on the screen longingly dreaming about his beloved light.
Jerry brought me an omelet in a bag, surely he sent a young boy into town to buy it for me. That paired with a chunk of tea bread and I've officially eaten my first breakfast at site. I sat outside the school with some of the teachers and Jerry agreed to let me watch him teach.
After class we met up at the primary school with some of his friends. They are also teachers, for the elementary/primary kids. I sat and watched them play cards for a few hours, a game I think i've seen long ago but forgot how to play. As I learned I observed a small community of goats. 2 mothers and their 3-4 kids each. The baby goats chased each other around baa-a-a-aaa'ing and slow motion play head-butting, which consists of leaning into each other lazily.
2 teen-age goats jumped into the air almost as if standing upright int he air, and headbutted each other as they fell. They did this about a dozen times. The 2 baby goats I was watching earlier found their mother and raced to see who could get to her first. They quickly started suckling from their mom and---awww! Dude! Yo, goat babies, stop headbutting her there! Those things are attached!-- Mom almost didnt even seem to notice as the kids rammed into her udders in rhythm. It almost seemed as if they were doing it to help more milk come out.. it didnt look comfortable either way.
As the sun fell "Boss", Jerry's friend, informed me that it was time to move to their 'evening spot'. They picked up their things, including the 2 benches we had been sitting on, and we walked to the evening spot. No more than 100 yards from where we were just sitting. We played some more cards and I finally called it a night. Well actually Jerry and his friends called it for me, I was sent home since I was starting to get eaten alive by mosquitoes.
