I meant to post a lot more... I have entries written into December, but it takes forever to type them all... here are some pictures in the meantime... (These are from Halloween, the story follows in the previous entry)
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I arrived in Ghana on June 4th, and will be here for 27 months, until Aug 2011, with the Peace Corps.
On this blog I will try to capture the essense of my stay in Ghana, and what it's like to leave North America and live in Africa.
I have been writing in a journal (most) nights, and when I can get to internet I transfer them over. For this reason you will see a great many posts, from different dates on this site. However keep in mind that they are put on one large chunk at a time, and my reply-time to questions, emails, or comments may be quite slow. I know my family and friends are reading this blog (Hi Mom!), but I also welcome friends of friends, friends of current PCVs, people intersted in the Peace Corps, or complete strangers. Take the time to introduce yourself, I'd love to hear from you.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the blog, Ghana so far is amazing.
Guillermo

Package wish list:
1)Candy! Lots of it, you can never send too much... favorites include: Chocolate of all kinds... a bite-sized variety pack maybe? Jolly ranchers... anything good would be amazing... twix?? chocolate covered peanuts...raisinettes... im drooling...
2) Any good "just add water" meal that you dont have to bake. It would be nice to have a quick snack meal that reminds me of home. Powdered soups work great as well.
3) Drink mix powders... theyre delicious...the sugar free kind is fine, I'm actually getting used to the not-as-sugar-packed foods in Ghana.
4)Omg slim jims? That would be delicious...
5) I love food. Send me any food you can think of that would be delicious.
6) Any book you particularly think I would enjoy. We have plenty of books here, but I'm always down to read a new and interesting one.
keep in mind that your package will take 4-6 weeks to reach me and will go through varying temperatures and humidity levels...
