Pictures.. Finally!

So I was finally able to fix my memory sticks and get some pictures online... it's been a while I know, but here's a batch from training till recently!

Some pictures from Training:

Mini-Man taking a nap on the floor at my HomeStay in Kukurantumi

Me Beth and Uncle Bob dancing at the For You

Me and Uncle Sam the HomeStay Coordinator
(He came to see me with Richard and Grace when I was sick in K-tumi)

Me and Richard the Language Coordinator
(In Ghanaian form: hiding his great smile from the picture)

Jonesie! The money-man.

On the way to site from training. Baked a FunFetti cake with the mix Brenda sent.
A. MA. ZING.

At site:
View of my back yard from my first tree.

Picture of my new and bigger tree.

My little reading chair, 20 feet up.

Woke up from a nap, found these guys hanging out in my front yard.
(My favorite is the one on the bottom right like "wtf u lookin at?")

It's great having small African children around who love doing chores...
I'm never washing my own clothes again >:)

Some people you've heard about:

Raheem. The Imam's son who always hangs out at the recharge stand with us. He's a very smart little kid and my favorite kid in Ghana. In Bubu's words "He's very troublesome!" which is pretty much true... this is his mischevous face.

Hanging out with Bubu at his recharge stand.

Raheem. He knows no english so I tease him in Dagbani.
"Where are your teeth? They are not coming back..."

With Fidaus one of my best students. He took me on a bike ride to a nearby village called Adayili.

Our trip to Deboya:

Dusk over the river leading to Deboya, a town in Ghana famous for its smocks.

An old man hand-weaving a smock in Deboya. Something about his calm work and the contrast of so many colors struck me as beautiful when I saw him.
Me in my smock I had made in Deboya.
This is my bedroom and to my left is my mosquito net covering my bed.
Just above my head you can see dental floss used to connect the bed to the wall, haha I ran out of rope....

Pictures around home:

A few weeks back there was a lightning storm behind my house. No rain. No sound. Just silent flashes in the distance. I put my camera to "night mode" and captured some breathtaking photos.

The sun's Rays piercing through the clouds onto a field in Africa.
